Sorry... Haven't posted for a while!

Shelby always wants to sit on my lap while I'm on the computer, so, this would be why I haven't posted for a very long time!!! Here are some of the current events in the Briggs household (sorry they're out of order, oops):

Yay! Our backyard finally has grass. I'm so excited that we don't have to look the dirt, rocks, and weeds anymore. Now all we need to do is get some bark for the beds and prep the garden area.

Shelby's Walking!

It's been a long time coming, but now the dreaded day is here. She went from taking a few steps to walking all over the house in a about a day or two.

New Cement

We had some extra cement and Tyler finally got around to using it (He's been super busy with work). So, we used in the front to add to the entrance of our house, it's so much better, we now have more room to walk around.

We got Shelby a little swimming pool for her birthday and she has really enjoyed playing in it.

Father's Day

It was such a nice on Father's Day, I think we spent most the day outside. We went to the park and Shelby found a little girl that she just loved. The little girl wanted to come up and see Shelby and Shelby couldn't get enough of her. She was hugging her and sitting on her lap it was too funny:) We'll definitely have to work on "stranger danger".

Great Easy Recipe For Those Interested

One of my many nights at work I was browsing through a magazine with lots of recipes in it and I found this one that is super delicious (and super easy)!






Strawberry Sandies

1/2 cup sugar
1 box strawberry cake mix
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup butter softened
1/3 cup water
1 lrg egg

1) Preheat oven to 350. Lightly spray cooking sheets with nonstick cooking spray. In a shallow bowl, place sugar
2) In a large bowl, combine cake mix, flour, water, butter, and egg. Beat @ low speed with electric mixer until well blended. Using hands, shape heaping tablespoonfuls of dough into balls; roll in sugar to coat. Place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets and pat gently to flatten.
3)Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until set. Cool on pans for 2 min. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Prep time: 15 min
Bake: 14 min
Serves: approx. 2 dozen

Shelby's ONE!!!

Shelby turned one last Tuesday, oh how time flies! But we've had so much raising her. She has the cutest personality! We love her so much! We think she's enjoyed the ride as much as we have.

Thanks to all who came to her birthday party. It wouldn't have been the same if you couldn't have come. It's nice to have so much family that cares about her! We know she is loved.

We had pizza the other night and Shelby was really enjoying it. She really only liked the toppings though. So she sucked off all the toppings and fed the crust to the dogs. Of course she had make a mess with all the sauce.

Pretty Rainbow

There was a very pretty rainbow on my way home from Tooele the other day near Ophir. It was the brightest rainbow I have ever seen. My photos aren't very good because they are through a car window, but enjoy anyway!

20 Mile Bike Race

I did a 20 mile bike race this last Saturday with my sister Sarah (it was sort of a birthday activity). It was on the Legacy Parkway trail, which was flat, so that made it a little more easy for me since I didn't train very much before hand. The weather has just been so off and on in March that I didn't get very many chances to go riding. Plus, Shelby does not like the bike trailer. She whines the entire time, so it sounds like I'm torturing her.

I made in under just 1 hour and 20 minutes!

Happy Birthday Julia!

My birthday was this weekend and we were able to do lots of fun activities with both families. We enjoyed a BBQ, a day in the park, and bowling with my family on Saturday. Then we went to wheeler farm so the dogs could swim and get some exercise on Sunday, we then went to Tyler's parents for ribs and we went to the park again so Shelby could swing (which she really enjoys). The weather was so beautiful both days. I'm so happy we have such wonderful families to spend time with!

Shelby's Easter Basket

I was shopping at Target, looking for an Easter basket for Shelby's first Easter, and i gotta tell ya that there weren't very many cute ones out there. So I saw one that was in the shape of a tulip, but was kinda small. So, I being the crafty person I am, decided that I could make one just like it. So I go to the craft store and buy the fabric, not knowing how much to buy, or even what kind of pattern I'm going to be using. But in the end it turned out to be pretty cute (for the first one I made). Well and I think at this point, Shelby's not going to care too much.

Crawling Baby

Now that Shelby is crawling she is into everything, especially electronics. Her new favorite activity is to play the sound system, she'll push all these buttons and then we have no idea what she pushed and it takes us 10 minutes to fix what took her 2 seconds.

Shelby loves popcorn! Every time we have it she has to grab for the bowl and then she tries to get her fists full of as much of it as she can. It's so cute!
